Description

This series comprises two notebooks. The first is a travel dairy by Euphemia Kramer beginning in May 1935 of the Kramers' trip to the United Kingdom and Switzerland. The second notebook continues the account of the trip, from September 1935, and also includes an account of the Kramers' life from that time to Ernest E Kramer's death in 1958.

This series includes the following items:

  1. 'Diary. E. Kramer 12 South Hill Park. Gardens Hampstead London 29.5.[19]35' is written on the first page of the notebook. Contains Euphemia Kramer's account of trip to United Kingdom and Switzerland. Some pages missing. 19x14.5x5 cm.
  2. 'Dairy continued on Board the Esquilino. 15/9/35.' is written on the first page of the notebook.The final dairy entry is dated 30 October 1935 and records the Kramers' arrival in Melbourne. Following is a 21-page account of the Kramers' lives from this time, concluding with an account of Ernest E Kramer's death in February 1958. 20x14x1 cm.
